We are looking for qualified Electrical Engineers for our NAT Manufacturing Plants.  The primary purpose of this position is to improve the safety, quality, and productivity of the manufacturing process through electrical and software upgrades.  These upgrades include PLC controls, AC Variable Frequency Drives, Servo Motion Control, and both AC and DC motor circuits.  As part of the upgrade process, financial justifications and projected paybacks must be calculated.  This position is also responsible for documentation and software back-ups.  In addition, you will communicate with both leadership and floor technicians on a daily basis and requires the ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment that typically operates 7 days/week and 24 hours/day. 

 

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.  Desired computer skills include PLC programming, Microsoft Office, CAD software, and SAP.

Requirements
  • Minimum (2) two years experience working with multidisciplinary Engineering and Maintenance associates to achieve cost effective goals.
  • Equipment design experience and project engineering or project management role is preferred.
  • Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology
  • Ability to understand electrical diagrams
  • Ability to interpret and create technical CAD drawings and schematics
  • Ability to program and debug programming languages
  • Some knowledge in design electrical control systems
  • Ability to understand and design modern safety control systems
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot machine problems
  • MS in Electrical Engineering desired
  • BS in Manufacturing or Engineering
Tasks
  • Develop and Execute activities involving continuous improvement tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions and facilitating cost down initiatives related to improving product costs. These duties would include training and instruction of appropriate team members and day-to-day floor support.
  • Identify and take measures to correct unacceptable performance through analysis and technical knowledge of the product and process including waste and cost reduction.
  • Prepare cost estimates, financially justify project, prepare budgets, review design, supervise installation and commissioning. Researches new equipment, systems, and processes to advance plant operations of larger scale projects.
  • Develop and implement activities to Ensure safety, environmental and other regulatory compliances by working with appropriate associates on EHS issues, following the implementation of MSR's, and continually improving the communication across all relevant departments.
  • Facilitate contractor management process and periodically audit contractor's work to ensure that safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
